What is your personal definition of spirituality?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 06, 2009:
Different than religion, spirituality is my connection -- my relationship -- with the sacred; with what is Divine.
Where do I place, find, or create spirituality in my life?
In Latin, the word for breath and spirit is the same, "spirare." The word "spirit" in the Hebrew language or "life-force" can be translated into the word "breath." About 16 to 17 times per minute I say "yes" to Spirit. In other words, Spirit -- the Divine -- is quite literally my life.

Yes, I agree Spirit is quite literally your life. In my opinion it's quite literally everybody's life. Some people, like yourself, know it and some people haven't figurer it our yet. The universe was created within the consciousness of Infinite Being Solid matter is made up of consciousness held in tension in order to have the appearance of solidity. Spirit, consciousness, Infinite Being, life are all One.
Good morning, Carlton - Thank you so much for dropping by. I like what you said, “Solid matter is made up of consciousness held in tension in order to have the appearance of solidity.” That really gives one pause for thought – and that's precisely what I will do with your words of wisdom today.
Good morning, Laurie, I like your allusion of breath being Spirit although I have never thought about it quite that way. When the breath is gone, the Spirit has departed also. Thank goodness for the Lighthouse. Now, tell me, where is it? North Carolina? Virginia? I hope you and Len have a super time this evening, I've only been to one silent auction and won't tell you what I thought of it, Dinner (?) usually has a more positive effect one me.
I went grocery shopping yesterday and bought the steak for the pie, but stayed out by the fire so late that I didn't have the time or energy to put it together. I had forgotten to buy ready-made pie crust and was not willing to risk my health or teeth with a home made one. I'll be working until 6:00 this evening so maybe if I come in and get straight to it, I can do that tonight.
Thank you for another great post. Carlton has also given me something to think about.
Sandi - Yes, thank goodness for the Lighthouse! I believe that when the breath is gone we depart with Spirit. The lighthouse in the photograph is in Michigan on Lake Huron.
We've been to a few silent auctions and have yet to purchase anything. The event this evening is at a Buddhist center so I think dinner will be very simple. If you have the opportunity to make the No Kidney Pie this evening I'll want to know your thoughts.
Dear Laurie, As you give it some thought today alternate your attention from the thought and the silence or space between or behind the thought. Thoughts are also consciousness held in tension.
Beautiful!
Hey there, Gabriel!
Carlton - Excellent suggestion; I'll give it a whirl - thank you.
Thank you for dropping by Meenakshi.
You all (or as Sandi would say, ”Y'all) make it a FANTASTIC weekend!
You are a Beacon of Spirit…
Jeannie - Thank you for stopping by and as ~KES would say, “leaving your heartprints!”
well, by the time I get here, it usually has all been said … even stuff I never heard of before … I never ever thought I would hear about silent auctions, dinner at a Buddhist center, and kidney pie in the same sentence anywhere …
Hey, Barbara, yeah, kinda makes you wonder, huh? Especially the No-Kidney pie.
Laurie, I hope all goes well with your evening. For me it's scrambled eggs and a good book and hit the light switch. On the ladder again, I don't see how that fat old man does all those chimneys. Must be magic or he has a heck of a good wife waiting at home to plaster him up with Ben-Gay.
Barbara - That made me laugh. It's sort of like the Culver's (ice cream) places around here. They have billboards that tout the meal and ice cream of the day. It could look quite literally like, “peppermint bbq pork” – and you think, What?!
Sandi - Did you make the No Kidney Pie? If yes, how'd it go? Joan Borysenko's presentation last evening was wonderful. She touched on two topics that I'm currently writing about – “Forgiveness” and “Grace.” Both important ingredients in healing. I really liked what she had to say, and I was impressed with her gentle and humorous delivery style.
And oh my gosh, Sylvia and Barbara (Redcay) both confirmed cornbread with milk. But they both said BUTTERmilk – which makes it even more disgusting!
