I find that reading a book can be like enjoying a good meal or a fine wine.   Take your time and enjoy every idea.  Get as much as you can out of it.   When you get tired, put it down just like you would stop eating when you are full.  Being retired I can start my day off reading where I left off, and It seems that I can really get a lot out of it when I am refreshed from a good night sleep.
                                               Enjoy today and tomorrow
