How do you share what you've learned?

Posted on Jun 15th, 2009 by Laurie : Energy Worker Laurie
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 15, 2009:

Labradorite
Through something similar to adularecence.

There is an optical occurrence in certain gemstones such as moonstone, opal and Labradorite.  It is known as adularescence - a distinctive shimmering or glow which appears to come from below the surface, but which is caused by diffraction of light.  This phenomenon is impossible in the absence of light.  The shimmering only takes place in the presence of light.

I strive to live in a heart-based manner that radiates what I have learned--the presence of inner light--Spirit.

How beautiful, I love Opals but they are not for me.  I do wear a star sapphire that was polished and set for me, and being curious about how the star came to be there, did some research. It's called asterism, and there's no way I would care to explain it.  However, it's similar to the way light is refracted in your Opal. Without light, it does not exist. I appreciate your explanation of how you impart your knowledge.  Your style of teaching is so gentle and easy-to-understand that we constantly learn from you without being aware of it at all.  I usually just shake my head and say, “Hmm..Who knew? ” walking away with another piece of information safely tucked away inside my head.  Thank you, you remind me of the Dames of old, patiently, patiently, patiently  teaching.

Barbara - I was just on your answer to this question and it resonated so strongly with me.  A left a comment for you there.

Sandi  - Star Sapphire …. Oh how lovely!  If I’m not mistaken an asterism is a compilation of stars.  The therapeutic and metaphysical properties of sapphire are numerous.  Here are but a few:

Sapphire – in general – enhances creative expression, intuition and meditation.  It is corundum, and comes in virtually any color of the rainbow including blue, pink, purple, orange (Padparadsha), green, colorless, and red (known as ruby).

Star Sapphire – in particular – is a stone of wisdom.  It is also said to bring good fortune and to give one a more pleasant disposition.

“This phenomenon is impossible in the absence of light”

One thing we can count on when we listen to your words is that there will be moments of sparkle and light, and a radiant after-glow.  You clearly are most in your element when we are right beside you, looking over your shoulder.  The way you so generously share what you see is such an inspiration.

I've stumbled about quite a bit on my path to finding inner peace, and most especially in searching for ways to share what is in my heart and what I've learned along the way.  (I'm going to be forced to make up a word to adequately explain my meaning, so please pretend you didn't notice).

Your words are filled with such gentle and implementable suggestions for action.  For instance, today I felt stymied by circumstances, and was a bit out of sorts.  I asked myself how I could improve my interactions with people, but my mind was stuck in the non-motion of endless questioning.  Then I came here, and saw your words “I try to live in a heart-based manner that radiates what I have learned - the inner light – Spirit”.

Yes.  It isn't always about headlines and great revelations.  Sometimes it's simply about reflecting the light from within.  I really appreciate the beauty of your words, and your willingness to share this sparkling gem.  You are truly a brilliantly shimmering example of adularescence.  Thank you.

p.s.  I get ridiculously excited about learning a new word, so thank you also for that.  It was one of the juiciest words I've come across in a while.  (grin)
