What is your favorite sort of weather?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 28, 2009:

Autumn_leaves_in_nova_scotia_by_laurie_buchanan

In autumn, nature puts on her most brilliant show of color that stirs and then quiets the soul.  From bright yellows to dazzling reds, she transforms and shows off her rich and vibrant hues--her splendor--before taking a deep bow.  Then like feathers, she allows her leaves to drop softly, pooling on the ground at her feet.  With poise and dignity she remains unveiled and vulnerable until the following spring.

Laurie, Laurie, Laurie, you'll have me wishing my time away.  It's 96 degrees here and brutal in the sun.  Here you've got me ready to put on my hat and gloves and go pick up the pecans (Thanksgiving time).  Very nicely written, I'd say, I just had a cold chill run down my arms!

Jaleesa - awe shucks …

Sandi - I imagine that your 96-degree weather has a signifigant amount of humidity - making it brutal!  I hope you helped yourself to some refreshing lemonade while you were here.  Thank you for dropping by.

Hey, you two gals are in the same geographic location.  If I'm ever down in your neck of the woods I will make a point of visiting you both.

Your words take me back to my Grandfathers apple orchard in the fall. What a beautiful time! Thank you.

Please do!  I'll have to say Harvest Time is a great deal more appealing than Trapped in the Air Conditioning time.  Of our 4 growing seasons, summer is certainly the most taxing, you could swear the Sun has teeth and claws.

Laurie,

I searched Amazon to get your book - “Drop the Bags and No One Will Get Hurt: A Practical Guide to Abundant Living”.  No luck.

Then, I saw it was only copyrighted this year of 2009 and did a Google search.  Followed that link - darn back at your Gaia blog of Jul 2nd.  I then found a link at selfgrowth.com/ but the various book links under your picture don't go anywhere for me.

HELP ! ! ! How do I get a copy?  I would willingly pay for it.  Just let me know. ;-}

Debbie - I'm in the midst of the publishing process right now.  The full manuscript (309 pages, 53,365 words - not that I'm counting) is with a publisher as we speak.  We are not under contract.  They have 12-weeks to let me know if this will fly with them.  My hope is that it will soar!

Laurie,
I have followed all the paths back to your wondrous wisdom that Kes/Kathy has so lovingly brought forth to the community feature of you and  your being and once again I am awed by the gentle wonder of you…

I spot here because not only was I drawn to the photograph but also the words that accompany the photograph…. Most lush as the fall in her beauty, shifts her green to reddish gold, to prepare her space for meditation, as well as co-creation… of laying in wait… As old man winter covers her over with his cold breath and blanket of frost and snow…

Beautiful! I look forward to the book, once she emerges from the hands of her trainers…

I am Love, Jeff
