Who would you really like to get to know?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 02, 2009:
Jane Goodall is one of the people I would really enjoy the opportunity of getting to know personally. I admire her writing, her non-profit institute, her public platform and her way of life. Through each of these vehicles she empowers people to make a difference for all living things. She promotes healthy ecosystems, sustainable livelihoods and works toward nurturing new generations of committed, active citizens around the world. One of my favorite books, "Harvest for Hope: A Guide to Mindful Eating," was written by Jane Goodall.

I will look out for the book, sounds interesting.
i agree, she is an amazing person
There's a little Jane in all of us. Trouble is, we're polluted with all the drama that's in the so called civilized world that separates us from the purest form of our oneness with all creation. Too much Tarzan, not enough Jane. Balance, Baby, balance.
Laurie, I'll bet you're good at tightrope walking.
“I'll bet you're good at tightrope walking.” Why Gabriel, I believe that's one of the nicest compliments that I have ever received. In my book I define my perception regarding the difference between passion and purpose. I use a famous tightrope walker as an example:
Passion is different from purpose. Passion is what fuels your purpose – it is the drive behind your purpose. In his book, “To Reach the Clouds,” Philippe
Petit–a French high-wire artist who gained fame for his hire-wire walk between the Twin Towers in New York City on August 7, 1974–said, “Passion is something that knows no bounds.” The drive behind my purpose [Laurie Buchanan] is compassion. It has been said, “Love is an act of kindness, and compassion is its companion.”
This excerpt was taken from my book, “Drop the Bags and No One Will Get Hurt: A Practical Guide to Abundant Living.” Copyright Laurie Buchanan, 2009.
Your timely message has stoked the fire of passion that was ignited ten years ago when I sold my business to pursue selfless service in spiritual ministry. Along the way, every door I knocked on, closed. The pain grew with every door, yet the Presence always found ways to comfort me in miraculous ways. You are one of those to me.
You have reminded me of the baggage that I need to drop in order to walk a little closer with the One. Hand in hand, we will get there. Laurie, I'm honored to call you friend.
Gabriel -
You just made me cry … happy tears.
You listened with your heart,
- Laurie
My word, what a nice comment, somehow I could see you on a high-wire complete with parasol, ala Mary Poppins. And wouldn't bat an eye if you soared off over the chimney pots. 'Course, I'll believe about anything. LOL I DO believe in Jane Goodall and have always been amazed at the personal sacrifices made to do her work. I know she has a special link and a special Angel to manage the way she has, myself, I would be afraid of wild chimps. That's real courage.
Laurie, will you let us know when the book is out? Greatness bubbles up in you! You are amazing.
Sandi - we have a very large French Military Box Kite that we take over to Lake Michigan and fly every great once in a while. You have to wear thick leather work gloves to hold the spool that reels it in and out. One time the kite was so high and the wind was so strong that it lifted me off the ground; not very far, but it actually lifted me! That was the closest Mary Poppins experience I've ever had.
John - When the book comes out I promise that I will shout it from the mountain tops. Someone is going to say, “Stuff a sock in it, will ya?!”
