This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 31, 2009:
My heart wants my son to experience the greatest gift of all - peace of mind.

Help

You can count me in on that one, Laurie. Sending peace his way. Care to adopt me, by chance?
Gabriel - Thank you for your heart-based intent for my son. His name is Eoghan (photetically pronounced “You When”), but most everyone calls him Evan.
What do you mean would I care to adopt you? I did that a long time ago!
I will add my intentions also, I do know what a Mom goes through on that account, my oldest daughter is still fighting her battles. And I'm still praying. Did you build a cairn?
Sandi - Thank you, too, for your heart-based intent on Eoghan's behalf. I sincerely appreciate it. I will add your oldest daughter to my conversations with God.
I tend to build a cairn (càrn in Scots Gaelic) when my heart experiences deep pain; it helps me to sit with it. The particular càrn you see in the photograph has been in existence for some time.
mother's hearts rest at peace when our children are at peace
oh! I can identify with this one!! my heart wishes the same – peace of mind, peace for all our sons and daughters. peace, love, light, laughter, wonder – for all.
y en español….
El deseo de mi corazón es la paz, el amor, la luz, la risa y el asombro para todos en el mundo entero.
I think I'm going to need a tissue.
The colors in this discussion thread are weaving together to create a beautiful tapestry. Thank you.
heehee, your first post makes me giggle Laurie! how cute :)
Beautiful… not being a parent, yet empathizing with you all, sending love and life and light….
The Carin reminded me of the wall in The Secret Life of Bee's where the ladies went out to the wall and put messages in it. I guess like the Wailing Wall…
I think I will build a cairn, too. I'm always tossing stones out of my garden in a willy-nilly fashion so that I can find them later with the lawn mower blades. Ha, “kill two birds with one stone ” ! Gathering stones together with good intentions and placing them as a reminder to give thought to. Thanks.
Stone Soup, Anyone? Sandi, you can bring the okra.
Well, w've already got rocks, I can bring a crust to cook it in.
You guys crack me up!
It's been a long and interesting day; to say the least. Here's a LINK to what greeted us when we arrived at HolEssence this morning …
Jeff - I hadn't thought of it before, but now that you say “The Carin reminded me of the wall in The Secret Life of Bee's where the ladies went out to the wall and put messages in it. I guess like the Wailing Wall…” Why, yes – for me it is very similar to that.
You know, I didn't think about it that, but wouldn't it be nice to have a Message Cairn to use as a Post Office. In the Bee's all the messages were considered private, were they not? It's been a while since I read it. I'm sorry people were so disrespectful towards you and your neighbors in town, ” youthful high-spirits and pranks” just don't cut it with me, though. I hope they are caught and reparation is made so they don't visit this form of attention on anyone else.
Sandi - “… wouldn't it be nice to have a Message Cairn to use as a Post Office.”
Now that's a terrific idea!
Regarding the damaged sign … I would like for them to get caught and at a minimum, have to pay all of our insurance deductibles. The damage they did to four businesses runs into multiple thousands.
One thing I know for sure – poor choices always go hand-in-hand with negative consequences. It may not be on this side of their last breath, but it will catch up with them eventually.
I'd love to learn more abt making a cairn. It looks like just finding and placing the stones would start that healing. Oof! I remember when I realized how my mother's heart seemed literally to be divided whole among us 3, never pleased till all her children were with her. I see that never ends.
“I remember when I realized how my mother's heart seemed literally to be divided whole among us 3, never pleased till all her children were with her. I see that never ends.”
Gaia at her finest.
Gabriel - I can see that you and I were both touched by what Meenakshi said about her mother.
Meenakshi - building a cairn is not hard, but requires thoughtful placement of stones that once placed will stay put. The number one thing that is likely to disturb a cairn is weather.
I just Googled “How to build a Cairn” and received a multitude of returns. Here is a LINK to the very first one.
If I'm not mistaken, when there is a special occasion you add a stone, when you have a special prayer or intention you add a stone, if you are traveling and come upon a cairn, out of respect, you add a stone. I believe some of the earliest and most revered shrines began their lives as simple cairns and were added to over the years. Chartres started as a cairn because of it's location on an energy line or ley. All of the added value comes as more and more people invested their stones and thoughts to create a monument whose original meaning has been lost for ages.
Sandi - You are absolutely, completely and totally SPOT ON!
I have a great understanding of this & am so happy you linked this from the conversation in Feng Shui as the stone ritual is not only beautiful but has great significance in helping to put calm back into an area.
I'm glad you followed the link. It's good to see you here today Kathy. I trust you're making it a glorious weekend!
